About Psych Reflections
Johanna Moreno, LMFT, LPCC
If you’ve been struggling, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. As a bilingual Latina therapist, I’ve seen the unique weight that comes with navigating intergenerational trauma and the pressure of 'making it' as a first-gen professional.
Whether we’re working through anxiety, trauma, or relationship hurdles, I show up with a sharp eye for the patterns holding you back and a deep respect for the resilience that got you here. I’m here to offer support that is culturally responsive, rooted in real conversation, and entirely tailored to your lived experience.
Why I Became a Therapist
My path to this work started at home. Growing up in a household that fostered children, I witnessed firsthand how deeply we are shaped by trauma, change, and emotional disconnection—but also how much healing is possible with the right support. Seeing my parents navigate the complexities of foster care instilled in me a lifelong belief in therapy as a powerful tool for resilience.
Like many of my clients, I’ve navigated my own journey with anxiety and have been in therapy myself. I know how heavy it feels to reach out, and how transformative it is when someone truly listens.
What You Can Expect
I’m not your mom’s therapist—and that’s intentional. Therapy with me is down-to-earth, active, and rooted in real connection. I’m here to help you do the deep, meaningful work, not just check boxes for an insurance company.
In our sessions, you can expect:
A judgment-free zone to explore what’s truly on your mind.
Real-world strategies tailored to your high-pressure life, not just textbook advice.
A human connection grounded in trust, humor, and empathy.
A therapist who shows up fully and invites you to do the same.
Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’re returning after a break, I’ll meet you with genuine care and a deep respect for your lived experience.
More Than a Therapist
Outside of sessions, I’m someone who finds joy in the little things and the big adventures. I’m a big fan of thriller, horror, and suspense movies (the spookier, the better!), love curling up with a good book, and I absolutely love, love, love Halloween—it’s my favorite holiday! When I’m not working, I’m off exploring the world with my husband, our two boys, and our two dogs—who occasionally love to make a quick guest appearance in our virtual sessions!
Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into tarot reading, which has become a personal way for me to reflect, recharge, and stay grounded. These passions help me stay connected to myself, and I bring that same sense of curiosity and presence into my work with clients.
I also host the Psyched Tea podcast, where I talk with other mental health professionals about therapy, pop culture, and everything in between, but with a psychoeducational twist!
Let’s Talk.
If you're ready to start or just curious about what therapy with me would be like, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. It’s a small step that could lead to big changes.
